Cam has her TEDx Talk this weekend, and while she’s been on stage in front of hundreds of people at a time singing, she admits that this performance is a bit different. Cam says that for her Talk, it’s be more like when she tells stories in between her songs in concert, or a better comparison, would be when she first started her career. When singers first start out, they go to radio stations to share their music, and their story, and they connect on a more personal level, and that what Cam says this feels like to her. Sharing her stories with the audience to make a personal connection.

“It means a lot to be asked just to participate in this. I really admire what TED Talks are all about…sharing ideas, and the…just community of people that really care about learning. It’s just a beautiful thing to be a part of, so I feel really honor to be a part of it.”

“I’ve performed in front of a lot of people, but doing a TED Talk isn’t quite like performing, it’s more like story telling, it’s more like talking. It reminds me of being on stage when I tell stories in between songs, and also kind of when you go to meet people for the first time when you’re first starting out as a musician, you go and meet with radio stations and talking to them, telling them your story, and why they should care about your music, it feels a little more personal of a connection with these people. So, I’m excited to be in front of that audience and have the video reach people, and hopefully it helps.”
