Chris Young knew right away one of the key ingredients to his song Sober Saturday Night was asking Vince Gill to be a part of it. You may ask “Why Vince Gill?” Easy, Chris Young is a huge fan of Vince. The next step was actually asking him, and Chris knew Vince had a lot going on, but when he reached out, a “yes” was the response. Which as Chris says “him saying ‘yes’ to that was was really cool for me, being such a fan of his, and also knowing that he was perfect for that song, and he killed it.”

“The thing with asking Vince Gill to be a part of the song is…really, I just love Vince Gill. (laugh)  I knew I wanted somebody to guest on that for the solo, and then also the harmonies, and I was like ‘who would ask if I could ask anyone’ and it was him. So, I asked him first, and he just happen to say yes…because he’s awesome. He very easily could have said ‘no,’ and he’s got a lot of stuff going on with not only the stuff that he’s producing but also the stuff that he plays on. I feel like he’s cloned himself, he does so much stuff.  So, him saying ‘yes’ to that was was really cool for me, being such a fan of his, and also knowing that he was perfect for that song, and he killed it.”
