Jake Owen has become known as one of the most accessible country artists around. Jake is always making opportunities to reach out to his fans…through social media, hanging out at his shows, and just trying to make sure his fans in general have a great experience when they meet him. Jake says that he knows what it’s like to be a fan, and get so excited to meet an artist, only to be disappointed…and he doesn’t ever want to do that to one of his fans. Jake jokes that he even upsets his crew, when they try to get him somewhere, and a fan stops him, that he’ll try and make time for that one last picture even though his crew said “no.” Jake doesn’t mean to undermine anyone, he just wants to make sure that fans got a great experience. Even if you don’t see him in person, a great way to keep up with Jake is through his Facebook and Twitter accounts–you can find his Facebook page by clicking HERE
Jake Owen says that he’s a people pleaser…at least he tries to be. (:34)
“I hate letting people down, and it’s always that double edged sword, because there’s times where I’m signing autographs for people out on the road or I’m doing something and my tour manager…assistant, will be like ‘hey, he can’t take any pictures right now guys.’ But to me, it’s like when I see someone’s face go ‘man, really’, it’s like all they wanted was a photo. I’ll go ‘give me the phone’ and I’ll just take the photo, and my guy always looks at me like I’m undermining them or something (laugh). But I can’t let somebody down, I know that feeling of being let down when you’re excited for something, and I don’t ever want anyone to feel that way, or at least that I made them feel that way.”
