Maren Morris has exploded on the music scene since she arrived in Nashville. While there has been some adjustments to her new life, there weren’t as many because of her experience back in her home state of Texas–where everything is bigger…including the music scene! Maren spent ten years in the Texas music scene before heading to Nashville, and she says “I feel really lucky because it was the best upbringing. I got to basically grow up in a scene where everyone was really supportive and I could grow and then it just made the transition to moving to Nashville a lot easier.” What also makes things easier, is when you have great music. “80 Mercedes,” the second single from Maren’s album HERO, is turning heads without even trying as it’s climbing the charts. Thanks Texas!
Maren Morris admits that her time in the Texas music scene helped her for her career in Nashville. (:45)
“I think I appreciate it more now being slightly removed from the Texas music scene. I was in it for over 10 years, I feel like I was so fortunate to be brought up in a state where they had a music scene, because a lot of my friends here in Nashville that I write with had to move here just to find one, and to have come from one that was so strong and steadfast it’s own thing, I feel really lucky because it was the best upbringing. I got to basically grow up in a scene where everyone was really supportive and I could grow and then it just made the transition to moving to Nashville a lot easier because I already had some experience under my belt.”
