Old Dominion‘s new single “Song For Another Time” was almost a song for another artist. Matthew, lead singer for Old Dominion, says that not only did the guys write it after they thought they were done with their album Meat and Candy, but they even pitched it to other artists. But the more they thought about it, and the more other artists passed, the guys in Old Dominion not only believed that “Song For Another Time” should be one that they recorded…it should be on their Meat and Candy album! So, with that in mind, they made a special trip to the studio to record the song, and now it’s their third single, and the follow-up to their smash hit “Snapback”–which followed up their number-one hit “Break Up With Him.”
Matthew from Old Dominion shares the story of how “Song For Another Time” found it’s way onto their album Meat and Candy. (:32)
“We wrote that after we thought we were done with the album, and we actually were kind of pitching it to a couple different artists to see if they would cut it and the more people passed on it the more we were like I’m kind of glad they passed on that because we were falling more and more in love with the song, and finally decided man this has to be on there and so knowing it would knock a song off of the album we still flew home, made a special trip home to record that one song and make sure it was on there.”
