Maren Morris is a very busy woman these days! Maren’s song “My Church” is climbing the song charts. Her debut album Hero comes out June 3rd. Plus, right after her album comes out, she’s going on tour with Keith Urban! That’s a lot of news to call home with, and share with the family. Maren says that she and her parents, along with her sister, have a regular Sunday Facetime ritual so she can make sure weekly updates are shared with her parents. Maren says that it’s great to have these conversations because just as much as it’s her dream coming true, in a way, it’s her parents too because they also have been there from the start. Of course, this week’s conversation is sure to include a “Happy Mother’s Day” wish from Maren to her mom.

“Anytime I call home, or…I’m on this long group thread with my mom and dad and sister because you know trying to call them every time good news comes then it would just be impossible, because, I mean it sounds so crazy but there is so much to be said now. We have our Sunday morning Facetime ritual because they’re still in Texas and they own a business down there, but they’re just so ecstatic at everything that happened. They came up and saw me open for Chris Stapleton at the Ryman a couple months back, and for them to see their daughter who used to be playing in honky-tonks for 10 people, do a Ryman show…it’s just a dream come true for them too, because they really have been a part of it from day one”
