Chris Young is gearing up for a great 2016 on the heels of a three-week number-one smash with “I’m Comin’ Over,” the Gold-certified title track to his chart-topping new album, which also marked the first of his albums that Chris has co-produced. Clearly, the result has been great, with no less than The New York Times this week cheering I’m Comin’ Over as an “excellent fifth album” and another “strong chapter in a steady…career full of them.” And for Chris, becoming a producer was a challenge that really helped him define his music, start to finish, in a whole new way. “It’s just a really…I think a next step for me, as far as who I want to be, and you know, another tool in my toolbox, so to speak, of not just bein’ the songwriter and the vocalist, but also bein’ the producer. And I think it’s just more control on starting with that blank sheet of paper, going all the way to what people hear when they press ‘play’ on a single.”
