One of Nashville’s most buzzed-about newcomers is Columbia Nashville’s Maren Morris, whose self-titled digital EP celebrated its official release this past Friday. Entirely co-written and co-produced by Maren, the five-song collection originally premiered on Spotify, where the songs generated more than 6,000,000 streams in less than two months. - Recently named one of CMT’s Next Women of Country, Maren has been earning praise from a variety of outlets, including Rolling Stone Country, which hails her as “one of Music City’s most promising new voices,” while Sounds Like Nashville is lauding, “With the events … at the CMA Awards, many have said hopefully that the pendulum might be swinging toward something a little more different and organic. Maren Morris is just that artist.”

“I think the one resounding theme in country music has always been just the connection to the lyric and the fan. That has never really shaken. I think it’s evolved in ways, but from the beginning of country music time, it’s always been about the story of the song. And so I definitely pay respect to that with my music.”
