Cam says that it was a challenge to write her song “Burning House.” (:43)
“The writing of ‘Burning House’ was difficult for sure because it was such a big dream and it was such a emotional thing. Sometimes that’s hard to unpack by yourself, and if you have great co-writers who you trust, which I had Tyler Johnson and Jeff Bhasker who, one is one of my best friends and one is a mentor and a GRAMMY®-winning (laughs) songwriter. So the two of them, if anyone could help me pull this off, it was the two of them, and they did such a great job of keeping true to what the story was about and my experience and just helping me craft a song that was going to fully and really, you know, manifest my story.”
