Songs about women are always a popular topic for guys everywhere — and on his new single, “Wild Child,” Kenny Chesney reunites with his “You and Tequila” partner-in-song Grace Potter with a lyric that looks beyond the superficial aspects of the ladies to try to reach a little deeper in describing this “Wild Child.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- “Wild Child” is another incredible reason why Kenny’s year off touring to focus on his music resulted in a truly amazing album. The song is the third single from Kenny’s album The Big Revival, which has already launched back-to-back number-one hits with “Til It’s Gone” and the GRAMMY®-nominated Best Country Song, “American Kids.”
Kenny Chesney likes the way that his new single “Wild Child” sings about a woman’s spirit. (:36)
“I’m very proud of this song because I believe there’s a lot of ways to write about women. But to me, I think their spirit — their heart and their spirit is the place to start. You know, a lot of things that have been written about women in the last three years (laughs) are just about certain things. You know? And look, I love tailgates and cutoff jeans and bikini tops as much as any guy in the world, you know? (laughs) But I feel like that’s been talked about a lot. It’s kinda, in a way, kinda painted women in a corner. But this song talks about their spirit. This song talks about their heart, and how they live their life, you know, just out of the box.”
