Kenny Chesney may have taken a year off from his normal tour schedule, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been thinking about his fans — and as Kenny rolled out nearly all of the dates this week for his upcoming The Big Revival Tour, it’s all the more fitting that Kenny is also sitting near the top of the charts with “Til It’s Gone,” a song whose lyrics are exactly what Kenny wants to say to his fans when he returns to the road. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Kenny will launch The Big Revival Tour on his birthday, March 26th, at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. Tickets for the show will go on sale Friday, January 23rd, at 10am.
- After taking a break from touring last summer to focus on the music for his album, The Big Revival, Kenny says, “I can’t begin to describe the difference spending the time and being able to really focus on creating an album in terms of the songs, the production, the intensity. It feels like the same way we put this year’s tour together! We had more time to consider what we wanted, so we were able to get more creative and could dream a little more wide open…”
- With more than 50 shows currently announced, The Big Revival Tour will play close to two dozen stadium-sized venues, with the remainder mostly in enclosed arenas. But whatever the venue, Kenny says that he and his team worked to make sure that the tour production would deliver the same incredible experience, wherever you see the show: “For all the time we had to create for The Big Revival Tour, I wanted to make sure the fans got to experience it. I love amphitheaters and all the fun… But I want to give the fans the same impact with the show, because The Big Revival Tour’s set up to be pretty special.”
- While Kenny made the choice to skip touring in 2014, he says that it wasn’t an easy one: “A year away from the fans, whether people realize it or not, is hard on me. I live to play — as much as I live to write songs and make music. So I’m ready to get out there and play this new music for people. I want give them a taste of how good The Big Revival is — and hear them singing ‘Til It’s Gone,’ ‘American Kids’ or even ‘The Big Revival’ back to me!”

Kenny Chesney talks about the lyrics to his smash, “Til It’s Gone.” (1:03)
“The lyric is ‘got nowhere to go and all night to get there, and I’m goin’ there with you. Tonight we’re runnin’ on luck, and if we’re gonna use it all up, there’s only one thing left to do. I’m gonna take a deep breath and hold it in, and twirl you around,’ everybody (laughs), ‘twirl you around til my head spins, kiss that lipstick and wear it thin, til it’s gone. Break every rule we ever learned, kick back and watch the big wheels turn. Light up the night, and let it burn, til it’s gone.’ I mean, that’s…if you think about me talkin’ to my fans in the audience, that’s everything I wanted to say. And the bridge of the song, you know, ‘one night, one chance, one ticket to the big dance, you and me just holdin’ on right down to the last song.’ And that defines the energy, the raw passion, that I feel like we have in our shows. And more importantly, the connection. So, that’s why I recorded ‘Til It’s Gone,’ ’cause it just reminded me so much of that connection. And it reminded me of what I wanted to say to my audience when I came back out on the road — and I’m proud of that.”
