CMA Entertainer of the Year nominee and nine-time CMA nominee this year Miranda Lambert has been headlining her Crystal Light Presents Platinum Tour since July, and the tour will play its final stop this coming Saturday in a very cool destination: Hawaii! It’ll be Miranda’s first trip to Hawaii, and she told reporters not long ago that she had a couple of reasons why she thought that this would be a great way to close out the tour in style. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Miranda’s now climbing the country radio Top 10 with “Somethin’ Bad,” her smash duet with Carrie Underwood, the second huge hit from Miranda’s album, Platinum.
Miranda Lambert will wrap up her Platinum tour in a place she’s never been: Hawaii! (:23)
“That was my idea. That’s my last state! I’ve never played Hawaii; it’s my 50th state to play. I think I finished off the 49th in Rhode Island a couple years ago. (laughs) I was like, ‘We gotta play Rhode Island! Somebody book us in Rhode Island!’ (laughs) But, it’s just, I feel like…I’ve never been to Hawaii, first of all, and I’ve never played there, so, might as well kill two birds with one stone. We’ll work and go on vacation.” (laughs)
Miranda Lambert likes the idea of being able to give her band and crew an end-of-tour holiday. (:34)
“The guys have worked so hard over the last, well, some of ’em have been with me…my newest of my core group of crew and band, my newest guy has been there seven years, and I take a lot of pride in that. I really believe if you treat your people well, they treat you well. And so it’s also a, you know, a time to spend with them and kind of a ending reward of a summer-long tour, and just, a decade-long tour, really (laughs) you know, and just their faithfulness to bein’ here, and also, it’s Honolulu, so, why not?”
