Garth Brooks says that it was a thrill to get back into the recording studio for his upcoming album. (:40)
“Steppin’ back in the studio was a dream for me for a lot of reasons. The most important probably was just getting to play music again. You know, when we retired around 2000, 2001, I truthfully thought that was it. I mean, I thought I was gonna go home, raise my babies, and then the window would be closed. And I’m not saying that the window’s open, but I’ve been given an opportunity to see what’s on the back half of this. And walkin’ in the studio and seein’ those guys that I hadn’t seen in years, that were my brothers that I just loved to death that we made all the early records with was a wonderful feeling. And I think that translates into the music and onto the record. I think you hear it when you hear the songs from this record.”

“I love ‘People Loving People.’ I love the feel of it; I love how modern it feels, but yet it feels like Garth. And my favorite thing about ‘People Loving People’ has to be the message.”
Garth Brooks knows that the opening night of his world tour is going to be a very emotional experience. (:39)
“You know, I’m gonna be honest. I don’t know what it is about me, but the older I get, I cry at commercials now, and I just don’t know what it is. Maybe havin’ kids, and when you get them off to college, there’s this sigh of relief of ‘thank you, God,’ I just…you know, you kept ’em safe, you kept them healthy — thank you, God, for that, too — and so, you start gettin’ real emotional about everything. And we went into rehearsals, and the first time I stepped on that stage, I lost it. So I know in the real show, I’m going to lose it. And also what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna be so fired up that two songs in, my voice is gonna be gone, ’cause (laughs) I’ll just be way too excited. I know it’s gonna happen, and I just hope the people hang with me, and we all have fun, and they get me through the night, and night after night, hopefully we’ll start gettin’ stronger.”
