Carrie Underwood will be among the performers on Tuesday night’s Academy of Country Music military tribute special, ACM PRESENTS: AN ALL-STAR SALUTE TO THE TROOPS. Carrie will make the television debut of a new song called “Keep Us Safe,” which she co-wrote specifically for the show. Coinciding with the performance, the song will be available for sale digitally, with proceeds benefiting ACM Lifting Lives®, the charitable arm of the Academy. Don’t miss the special this Tuesday, May 20th, at 9pm, ET, on CBS.
- About the song, Carrie said, “When we were approached to be a part of the show, I was so excited to do something to honor our troops and because ACM Lifting Lives does such great work. I wanted to take the time to really think about what song I wanted to perform. I had a writing session scheduled with my co-writers and friends Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird, and Shane McAnally, and I guess the show was weighing on my mind. I think we all left the session knowing the song was special because it basically wrote itself that day!”
- A partial list of the show’s star-packed performance line-up also features Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, and others, many of whom were joined on stage by service members from the United States Armed Forces.
