Brad Paisley recalls the inspiration behind his song, “The Mona Lisa.” (:39)
“The idea that you’re looking at this thing that’s the most famous painting of all time, the most highly regarded work of art, and then I’m standin’ there lookin’ at it, and I’m thinkin’ to myself, ‘What’s the deal with that frame?’ How does that frame get to do that? Of all the things a frame could do in the world, that’s the epitome of ‘you’ve made it as a frame.’ There’s runners-up here and there, but that’s the luckiest dad-gum frame there is, and that’s when I came up with that idea: I feel like the frame that gets to hold the Mona Lisa. It’s really…it would make a great ballad, but the fact that it’s not – that it’s the most raucous thing, it sort of captures the feeling of euphoria that love has.”
