It was Thanksgiving Day of 2012 when Jake Owen and his wife Lacey celebrated the birth of their daughter, Pearl. This year, she’ll beat the Thanksgiving holiday with her birthday coming up next Friday, November 22nd, but whatever the day, Jake is as proud a papa as he can be, and he shared a few thoughts not long ago about his little girl and life as a family man. • Called on the Carpet: On Tuesday, dick clark productions announced that Jake will be among the celebrities hosting the “Coca-Cola Red Carpet LIVE! @ The 2013 AMAs” American Music Awards red carpet pre-show! The show will stream live on Yahoo and other partner websites on Sunday, November 24th, starting at 5pm, ET.  The streaming pre-show will precede the live broadcast of the 2013 American Music Awards, which will air from 8 to11pm, ET, on ABC. Joining Jake as hosts on the carpet will be Lance Bass, Jordin Sparks, Zendaya, Jenna Ushkowitz, Rosie Pierri, Ted Stryker, Jonathan Cheban, Aimee Song, Bonnie McKee, and Colbie Caillat, who said in a press release, “I am so excited to be hanging out with Jake Owen, live at the American Music Awards red carpet this year. We get to check out the fashion, talk to the stars about upcoming projects and share the news with all our fans while it’s happening. It’s really going to be fun.”

“She is quickly growing, very rapidly. Her demeanor and her personality is becoming more and more evident. I see a lot of my wife in her, every day. I see a lot of me in her every day. The faces she makes and things. But the coolest part for me is that I’m at a point in my life right now and career where it’s really starting to blossom, and it’s starting to grow. And I feel fortunate that things in life tend to work out in the times that they do, like you know, that whole thought of things happen for a reason. But I look back, like, maybe four or five years ago if I was married and had a child, it would have been a lot harder than it is right now, but thankfully, the way things are going, my daughter’s able to grow up and ride a bus that I am now able to ride on my own with my wife, and she can come out to all the shows. And every night, you know, I used to sit there and look out front of stage and think how pretty those girls were in the front row, and now I look side stage by my monitor console and see the two prettiest girls in the crowd.”
