A big congratulations to Tyler Farr, who scored the very first number-one hit of his career this week with his smash single, “Redneck Crazy”! And there’s reason for celebration on another front since Tyler’s Redneck Crazy album has now earned him the biggest country debut of the year by a new male artist! And while his career may be taking flight, Tyler laughs that even though he’s getting recognized more in public, he’s still not used to it! (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Released on September 30th, Tyler’s Redneck Crazy album sold 29,000 copies in its first week (according to the numbers counters at Nielsen SoundScan), achieving not only the highest debut-album unit sales by a new country male all year, but also the year’s highest debut-album chart position by a new country male on the all-genre Billboard 200 album sales chart, where it arrived at number-five! Incidentally, Redneck Crazy also made an impressive debut at number-two on the Billboard Top Country Albums sales chart, where it tied for the highest-ranking first week by a debut country male this year!

Tyler Farr isn’t quite used to being recognized in public…at least, not off stage! (:39)
“Yeah, I’ll see tweets or whatever. Someone just said before a show, pretty sure I just saw ol’ Tyler in Target or Bass Pro Shop or somewhere, and I’m…I mean, I don’t wear rhinestone suits into Bass Pro or into Walmart or any place. I just dress normal (laughs), look normal, so…but there has been lately, that is…it’s happened more and more, and it’s…kinda just makes me laugh. It’s funny, I’m like, ‘How in the heck do you know who I am? (laughs) How do you know my…?’ ‘Oh, you’re the “Redneck Crazy” guy!’ Like, I’m that guy now. I’m the redneck guy. I’m the ‘Redneck Crazy’ guy.”
