Trisha Yearwood celebrates her 49th birthday this Thursday, September 19th, and one person who we’re sure would love to wish Trisha a happy birthday is Kelly Clarkson, who not only enlisted Trisha to sing on her upcoming Christmas album, but also happens to be one of the all-time Trisha Yearwood fans! (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- A three-time GRAMMY® Award winner, Trisha Yearwood first hit number-one in 1991 with her debut single, “She’s in Love with the Boy,” and went on to record nearly 20 Top 10 hits in all, including chart-toppers like “XXX’s and OOO’s (An American Girl),” “Thinkin’ About You,” “Believe Me Baby (I Lied),” and “A Perfect Love.”
- Kelly talked about “nerding-out” over Trisha in this story we shared with you in July.
- Kelly is currently among the nominees for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year — an honor that Trisha won in back-to-back years in 1997 and 1998.
- Trisha is among the special guests on Kelly’s upcoming Christmas album, titled Wrapped in Red. Trisha, Kelly, and Kelly’s future mother-in-law Reba McEntire all came together to record “Silent Night” for the album. You can pre-order Wrapped in Red here on Amazon.
- Earlier this week, PEOPLE magazine shared a story about Kelly’s recent visit to Peru, where she delivered a special performance for some farmers and their families. Kelly’s trip was part of her involvement in Green Mountain Coffee’s Great Coffee, Good Vibes, Choose Fair Trade campaign. Learn more about the campaign and see the “Kelly Clarkson Travelogue” on ChooseFairTrade.com, and check out the story on the PEOPLE website, here!

Kelly Clarkson says that she thinks the world of Trisha Yearwood. (:44)
“My assistant and I are huge Trisha fans from childhood, so, I still show her…I’m like, ‘Oh, no big deal, like, Trisha was just e-mailin’ me,’ and whatever. Like, I’m so excited about it. And she’s so cool. She is legitimately one of the coolest people I’ve ever met in this industry. She’s so chill. She’s so not affected, not industry affected at all. She’s got the greatest voice on the planet, and still isn’t affected, which is funny. Like, you’d think, you have a right to be a little bit of a diva, and you still aren’t. It’s amazing. Like, and she’s so family, and like, we’ve been around her and her family. She’s just such a good person. Somebody you want to, like, be like, but anyway — and musically and personally — but she is rad. I love…I’m obsessed with her. It’s crazy. Somebody should call a cop or something.” (laughs)
