This week, Jake Owen is celebrating his fourth consecutive number-one hit from his Barefoot Blue Jean Night album — the song “Anywhere with You” — and when we caught up with Jake, he told us a story about a very cool prediction he received awhile back — from his auto mechanic! (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  Jake Owen recalls a great prediction from his auto mechanic. (:48)
“I can honestly tell you, my buddy who works on my car, I had my truck in gettin’ serviced, and like an old friend, he was honest with me about things, and he doesn’t, you know, he doesn’t have anything to gain one way or the other about that kind of thing. And he looked at me when he heard Barefoot Blue Jean Night, he goes, ‘Man, I really believe that this is gonna change your life. This album, after listening to it, I think it’ll change your career.’ And I remember goin’, ‘Brad, aw, man, I appreciate that. Thanks, man.’ He goes, ‘No, I’m serious, man!’ He’s like, ‘I listened to this album more than a few times.’ He said, ‘I really believe that this one’s gonna change your life.’ He’s like, ‘Mark my word.’ And sure enough, I gotta say, one of these days when I go back and see Brad, I gotta say, ‘Dude, you were right because it’s been a pretty surreal experience and feeling to not only have one number-one — my first number-one off this record — but then four in a row is pretty amazing.”

“They’re all as awesome as the first. You know, it’s like racin’ a race. We’re all out there — when I say ‘we,’ all the other artists that have songs on the radio — we’re all out there, and we’re all tryin’ to get to the top. We’re all tryin’ to get to that pole position, we’re all tryin’ to get into, you know, victory lane. And when you see yourself getting close to the finish line, you’re racin’ real hard. You know? Like, your team, your crew chief, everybody is all focused on how do we get this win. What’s cool is when you do win, I call up everyone from the label to my band members to my management to my friends at radio that helped me. There’s so many people involved that make a hit song happen that it could never get old because it’s so exciting to share that with so many people that it’s just a great feeling. So I got to share this fourth number-one in a row, ‘Anywhere with You,’ with my crew chief and my guys that work on my career and the label guys that have changed my world, as well, so it’s a darn cool feelin’.”
