“This song, for me, was such a personal song, and it was a very truthful song for me. I soon realized it’s a very universal song in a lot of ways because we all have this circle of friends, and when we go back to that bar or we see that place or hear about that bar or this place, we see the faces that were there with us, we remember the stories, we hear the music, we remember the jokes. All the stuff. You know, ’cause we fell in love in that place, we fell out of love in that place, we fell back into life in that place. So many things that create this emotional attachment. It’s interesting that a bar can have that kind of emotional attachment to a lot of people. You know? And so, that’s the root of this song.”
