Chris Young is looking forward to a really great summer, in more ways than one, as he not only has a new song called “Aw Naw” about to hit the airwaves — the first single from his upcoming album — but he’s also about to hit the road beginning this Thursday on Brad Paisley‘s Beat This Summer Tour. It turns out that Chris is a longtime fan of Brad’s, and after playing a Chicago date with him last year, Chris is all the more excited to get the Brad tour underway. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“We’ve been lookin’ forward to this for a long time, kickin’ off our first weekend on the Beat This Summer Tour with Brad Paisley. And Lee Brice is gonna be out there openin’ up, as well, and it’s…dude, it’s gonna be a party. Like, I mean, it’s just…from the get-go, I saw, you know, who’s gonna be on the tour, and I knew it was with Brad, and that’s somebody that not only have I loved for a long time as a musician and loved his music, but I just really, really, wanted to be on tour with him. I’ve seen his tour; we obviously got a taste of it last year when we did Wrigley Field with him and Miranda [Lambert], and I’ve been chompin’ at the bit to get this tour started.”

  Chris Young says that fans can expect to see some new things in his concert set list on the Brad Paisley tour. (:26)
“It’s gonna be big. We’re changin’…I’m completely changing what my set is, so it’s gonna be fun for me and the band because there’s not only gonna be some new stuff from the upcoming record in the set, but we’re also changing, basically completely rewriting the order of what we do the songs in, new intro. And it’s always fun ’cause, you know, there’s a lot of fans that will travel around and see multiple shows in a year, and it’s always funny when they think they know what’s comin’ next, and then we surprise ’em with somethin’. It’s fun.”

“I just saw Iron Man 3. I was like, I have to see it, ’cause if I don’t see it before we start Brad, there’s no way I’m gonna make time to go see it while I’m out there. So, just went and saw that. Love it. Obviously, comic-book nerd at heart. I’m excited for the new Superman movie, as well. Lookin’ forward to that, and I’m a horror movie fan, so as I was walking out of the theatre the other day, I saw, like, a couple posters. There’s one’s called The Conjuring that’s coming out at some point, and so I was like, ‘Ahh, I have to go check that out and see if that’s any good.’ But yeah, I’m definitely…if I can go see a movie, I’ll go see it in a heartbeat.”
