Congratulations to songwriters Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins for winning the Best Country Song GRAMMY® award for Carrie Underwood‘s chart-topping smash, “Blown Away”! Presented in the pre-tel ceremonies for The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards, the honor marks Josh’s fourth GRAMMY win and the second for Chris. Together Josh and Chris also won the 2007 Best Country Song GRAMMY for writing another Carrie Underwood blockbuster: “Before He Cheats.”

“I remember where I was the first time I heard ‘Blown Away.’ It’s one of those songs for me, and I had listened to a ton of, you know, demos and stuff like that, people pitching their songs. And this one, I got an e-mail and started listening to it on my computer speakers, and then I was like, ‘Whoa!’ So I grabbed my headphones, and I plugged my headphones in, and I started it over, and I just got chills all over my body.”
