Christmastime traditionally brings thoughts of children and their presents, and with his first niece born earlier this year, Chris Young says he’s definitely looking forward to spoiling her as she gets older. In fact, Chris says that the spoiling he has in mind may not go over too well with her mom — his sister, Dot. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Chris’ newest song on the charts is “I Can Take It from There” — it’s from his hit-filled NEON album, which features the title track, as well as the chart-topping singles “Tomorrow” and “You.”
Chris Young smiles that he may be a bit of playful troublemaker when it comes to his niece. (:37)
“I don’t really know what kind of uncle I am yet because, you know, it’s a baby niece, and you know, I get to buy stuff for her, and that’s awesome, but I will be the uncle that as soon as she can eat a Milky Way candy bar, I will load her up on Milky Way bars and send her back to her mom. My sister is going to hate me. So, she knows — I’ve already warned her. She has been warned! I was like, ‘Man, you know what sounds like a great, great Christmas present when she’s two? A drum set! That sounds awesome!’ So, I will be pretty terrible, but she’ll definitely be spoiled. That’s for sure.”
Chris Young knows that sisterly retribution will be in his future! (:09)
“That’s true — I don’t have any…I don’t have any kids, so I’m sure that it’ll be paid back in spades one day, but not right now!” (laughs)
