MORE GOOD STUFF…with Carrie, Brad, and Jake!
- Congratulations to Monday’s American Country Awards double-winner Carrie Underwood, whose two trophies keep her in the lead as the ACA’s most-awarded artist in the show’s three-year history, with Carrie now the grateful recipient of a whopping 11 ACA trophies! This year’s wins were for Artist of the Year: Female, as well as Single of the Year: Vocal Collaboration for “Remind Me,” an honor Carrie shares with her good buddy and fellow vocal collaborator, Brad Paisley. …Lately, there’s been an especially exciting wave of Carrie honors and award news, including being announced this past weekend as one of CMT’s Artists of the Year and recently garnering a GRAMMY® nomination for Best Country Solo Performance for her chart-topping “Blown Away,” while the song also earned a Best Country Song GRAMMY nod for writers Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins. And…fan voting wraps at the end of the day this Thursday for most categories at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards, where Carrie’s among the nominees for Favorite Country Artist, as well as Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Album (for Blown Away). You can vote as as often as you like for all your favorites in music, movies, and more, online at PeoplesChoice.com.
- Brad Paisley was a winner at Monday’s American Country Awards for his collaboration with Carrie Underwood on their number-one smash, “Remind Me,” but all eyes are on Brad for his latest single and video, “Southern Comfort Zone.” The video made its official premiere on Monday, and you can see it online — including here, on VEVO — and you can also pick up your own copy, right here, on iTunes!
- And speaking of Brad Paisley, as we approach the dreaded Mayan calendar end date of December 21st, Brad kicked off December with a tweet that declared where he stands on the concept, as he tweeted: “Using the Mayan calendar to say the world is going to end can’t be right. The Mayan Swimsuit Calendar has a Miss January.” Brad’s easy to find and follow on Twitter: look for him @BradPaisley.
- Jake Owen is among the American Country Awards honorees deserving of a big high-five as Jake took home the fan-voted award for Artist of the Year: Breakthrough Artist. It’s been an incredible year for the proud new papa, who sang his third consecutive chart-topper — and second number-one smash of the year! — “The One That Got Away,” on Monday’s ACA telecast. And this weekend, Jake heads for his hometown of Vero Beach, Florida, where he’ll headline his annual benefit concert on Saturday, December 15th, which will also mark the closing date of Jake headlining this year’s record-setting, sellout-filled CMT on Tour. Way to go, Jake!
