Jake Owen‘s life these days can only be measured in degrees of awesomeness, this week earning his third consecutive number-one single, continuing to sell-out night after night of his own headlining tour, and — the coolest Thanksgiving gift ever — celebrating his wife Lacey‘s November 22nd birth of their daughter, Olive Pearl Owen. At 6 pounds, 3 ounces, and 19 and one-half inches long, little Pearl was already destined to be the apple of her father’s eye — and as Jake told us recently, he always wants Pearl to know that, come what may, he’s there for her. - It was just announced this week that Jake will be spending his New Year’s Day in his native Florida, where he’ll headline the Discover Halftime Show at the 2013 Discover Orange Bowl! Catch the game and the halftime show on ESPN.
- Jake is currently a four-time nominee for the American Country Awards, where he’ll perform his new number-one single, “The One That Got Away,” when the ACA telecast airs December 10th, at 8pm, ET, on FOX.
Jake Owen says that he wants his daughter to know that he’s here for her, now and always. (:32)
“I told Lacey the other day, I said, ‘You know what? If our girl will look at me the way that you look at your dad, and if our girl will talk about me to her friends and her boyfriend or her husband one day the way that you talk to me about your dad, then my job in life will be complete.’ Because a dad to a girl is a role model, and it’s someone that she can count on and stand behind, and it’s my dying goal to make sure that my daughter knows that, that I’m here for her and for no matter what.”
