This past Tuesday, Jake Owen released his new Endless Summer EP — a four-song collection filled with songs that Jake chose to help keep the musical spirit of summer rolling right into the fall. Making the EP was Jake’s idea, and he says that he took a relaxed approach to the project, making it just what he wanted to be — and having a great time doing it. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“This was just fun. Like, I didn’t put pressure on myself to make this album because no one expected anything from it, you know? I came to the label and said, ‘Hey, look, if you trust me the way you did the Barefoot Blue Jean Night album, I’ve already done these songs on my own, I didn’t spend a lot of money to make ’em, so it’s not a large investment, but I really, truly believe in the fan base that I’ve built on the road and the hard work that I’ve put into this. I believe that if we give the people that have supported me all these years some music to buy that’s not necessarily a promoted album, just let ’em…just put it out there, and see what happens. It’ll also add to my show out on the road. It gives me a few more songs to play that people know. And thankfully enough, the label said, ‘You know what, go ahead, let’s do it!'”
