Chris Young says that he’s hooked on playing the Golden Tee golf game. (:34)
“I’m addicted to Golden Tee, which is…if I was gonna have an addiction, I’m glad it’s that and not somethin’ else! (laughs) But, it’s a game. If people don’t know what it is, Golden Tee Live, it’s a golf game. You can find it in most any bar where you would also run into neons, and I am addicted to it. I actually custom-built a road case into a Golden Tee video game, like to the point that the guys from Golden Tee actually sent me a bunch of the equipment for it, and I had to, like, take a picture next to it and show ’em the finished product.”
Chris Young thinks it’s funny that he got his band hooked on Golden Tee, too. (:34)
“All of my band, when I first got it, they’re all like, ‘I don’t really play,’ and the only guy I knew that played was my drummer. And so, I’m like, ‘Well, I mean, me and Monty can play.’ And literally, the second week I had it out, we were on the Miranda [Lambert] tour, and I walk in backstage, and I’m like, ‘Hey, guys, can I get in a game?’ They’re like, ‘Well, we got four, so you’ll have to wait ’til we finish this round.’ Literally, it was stacked up. There’s like a waiting list to play the game backstage at 2 in the afternoon. Right after soundcheck, they were all in there. So I got a pretty good kick out of that. I think I’ve got my band addicted, too.”
After his band began taking over his Golden Tee game, Chris Young jokes that he may have to come up with a new game plan. (:09)
“I’m gonna have to start carryin’ two of ’em! This is ridiculous! See, what I’ll do is when 2013 comes out, I’ll just make a new one, and I’ll let them play the 2012 version.” (laughs)
