CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Overseas Carrie

On Monday, Carrie Underwood tweeted that she’s “loving London,” the first stop on her international “Blown Away Tour” that will see Carrie play a sold-out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Thursday the 21st, followed by five dates in Australia, hitting Melbourne on June 26th, Tamworth on June 29th, and Brisbane on June 30th, before closing her trip with a two-night run at the Sydney Opera House on July 2nd and 3rd. It’s the first time that Carrie’s played London or Australia, and not only is she looking forward to the performances, she’s also hoping to get in a little tourist time. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • While Carrie has been headlining shows in the U.S. for years, she tells us it’s a whole different mindset and level of planning when you bring a show overseas — “…like in the Twilight Zone,” she smiles, “Everything’s kinda the same, but just kinda different.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Overseas Carrie  Carrie Underwood is about to play her first shows in London and Australia. (:24)
“For the first time ever, I will play shows in London and in Australia. I’ve been to both places, but I’ve never been, like, as, you know, Carrie Underwood putting on a show. I’ve either been as a tourist or just to meet people and see if they would be open to having me there, and obviously that paid off because I am…I’m gonna play shows. So, we’re very excited, and it’s gonna be fun.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Overseas Carrie  Carrie Underwood is hoping to get in a little tourist time while overseas. (:24)
“I really hope I get the opportunity to see more. You know, last time we were in Australia, I got to go to the zoo in Melbourne, and we got to just kind of walk around Sydney a bit. We toured the Opera House — of course, we’ll be playing there this time. I guess that’s the ultimate tour. But I really hope to have some time. It’ll really depend on my schedule, but I’ll definitely be snappin’ pictures everywhere.”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD: Overseas Carrie  Carrie Underwood says that things are a little different when you’re planning shows for an international audience. (:32)
“Preparation and song selection are a little bit different when we are thinking of international audiences. You know, we definitely want to to make a really good impression, and there’s some stuff that has happened here that they might not have heard of, so it’s just…it’s all about keeping all that in mind and you know, thinking about what we have to work with, ’cause you know, on my tour here in the U.S., like, we have our big, giant stage and all this stuff. And we obviously can’t take that with us, so it’s just a little bit different. We’ll be like in the Twilight Zone. Everything’s kinda the same, but just kinda different. So, it’ll be fun — keep us on our toes.”
