Chris Young is among the incredible talents helping bring Nashville to Las Vegas for all the music and excitement of Sunday’s ACM Awards. He’ll be performing on the show, and he’s nominated for Single Record of the Year for his number-one smash, “Tomorrow,” as well as earning his first ACM nomination for Male Vocalist of the Year. When we caught up with Chris, he talked with us about his nominations and what might happen if his name gets read after the words, “And the winner is…” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“If my name got called for either one of those, one: I have no idea what I’m gonna say, ’cause I refuse to…I think that’s almost like jinxin’ it, just like if you make up a speech, so I’ll probably look like a complete idiot if they do, ’cause I’ll have no idea what to say. And then, two: my flight for the next day will definitely change. We’re not flyin’ out of Vegas at 6 in the mornin’!” (laughs)

  If he had a choice to win one of his two categories, Chris Young says he’d be equally thrilled either way. (:13)
“Really, either one of those. First of all, those are huge categories to be nominated in, so, literally, this is one of those times I have no doubt that just being nominated in those categories is so huge, and I’m so excited about it.”

  Chris Young says he’s in for a busy time in Las Vegas. (:25)
“This is probably gonna be the most not-downtime I have, I guess, during the ACMs. We pretty much work every day. We’ve got a couple private shows. We’re openin’ a show for Blake Shelton when we’re down there, and then, you know, obviously, the ACMs, so we’ve got all the stuff that goes along with that — gettin’ to perform on the show and then havin’ two big nominations, so it’s gonna be a full weekend for us out there in Vegas.”
