While your favorite country stars make their living making music, that doesn’t mean they aren’t just everyday, cool folks to hang out with off-stage, and that’s certainly true for Jake Owen. Jake’s been known to call fans and chat, to tweet invitations to join him on the lake or at a restaurant, and that’s just part of who he is. And Jake tells us it’s funny, because in a way it’s like he’s the normal, easygoing guy in everyday life, but when he hits the stage, there’s another side of him that comes through. “It’s funny to me ’cause I’ll be in the middle of a show goin’, ‘Five minutes ago, I was just on the bus with my friends drinkin’ a beer and laidback, and here I am now, like, conducting a show.’ It’s kinda weird, like, that…it’s kinda like when…was it Clark Kent? I feel like I go from the business guy that hangs out, that’s normal, that everyone knows is this normal person, and all of a sudden, you put on your Superman outfit, and you run out there and you save the world (laughs) or whatever. I feel like I do the same thing. I put on my boots; I put my boots on and put on my shirt and run out there, and it’s like I’m a totally…just a different side of me, you know?”
