So how do things work “behind the scenes” in the music business? You might imagine people at record companies and deejays and booking agents and attorneys and managers and…well, sometimes things just happen a little less formally. And the less-formal approach is exactly how Chris Young says he got the invitation to go on tour with Miranda Lambert. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

- And speaking of “on fire,” Chris is red-hot on the radio with his smash single, “You,” the follow-up to his four number-one singles in a row! And “You” is close to becoming Chris’ number-one number five! The song is from his terrific NEON album, which also includes his chart-topping hit, “Tomorrow.”
- And on a cool, tour-related note, it was announced on Friday that Brad Paisley is bringing his Virtual Reality Tour to Chicago’s Wrigley Field on June 9th for a show that will feature Miranda as his special guest, along with Chris, Jerrod, and The Band Perry! The star-packed event will be only the second time in Wrigley history that the fabled home of the Chicago Cubs has ever hosted a live country concert!
Chris Young explains how he got the invitation to join Miranda Lambert on her “On Fire” Tour. (:23)
“Actually, it was her. It wasn’t a phone call. We were doin’ a show somewhere, and she was like, ‘You’re gonna go out with me on my tour next year, right?’ I’m like, ‘Uhhhh, sure! Like, really?’ ‘Cause we have the same manager, and so my manager was standin’ there, she goes, ‘She’s asking you.’ I’m like, ‘Uhh, yeah!’ So, that was the first time I’ve ever had someone ask me in person. That was the first time that had happened.”
