- CMT.com Editorial Director and longtime music journalist Chet Flippo has unveiled his picks for top music gifts for the holiday season, and number-one on his list is Pistol Annies‘ album, Hell on Heels. Chet says, “For my money, this is the album of the year,” while “Lone Star Annie” herself, Miranda Lambert, is hot on the heels of Hell on Heels with her new collection, Four the Record. Also among the Top 10 is The Dreaming Fields, from “You and Tequila” co-writer Matraca Berg. Check out Chet’s full list, right here, on CMT.com.
- Also in the season of giving, the “Give the Gift of Music” campaign is in full swing at GivetheGiftofMusic.info, which features contesting, music information and gift ideas, a gift registry, and more — including video testimonials from artists about meaningful gifts of music that touched their lives. Among those contributing is Chris Young, who talks about one Christmas present that helped shape his future. You can see it here. Chris is hot on the radio now with “You,” the new smash from his chart-topping NEON album.
