Brad Paisley‘s newest hit is a song called “Camouflage” — and Brad tells us that sporting the colors is a very natural thing in the country lifestyle — a bit of a redneck badge of honor, at times — and one that he’s been known to wear. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- “Camouflage” is from Brad’s This Is Country Music album, home to the hit title track, as well as the chart-topping “Remind Me” duet with Carrie Underwood, and “Old Alabama,” featuring Alabama.
- Congrats to Brad, who’s notched back-to-back weeks on The New York Times best-seller list with his new book, Diary of a Player.
Brad Paisley talks about wearing camouflage. (:17)
“I grew up wearin’ it. I look out and see it in my audience. They wear it year-round. They wear it in the worst possible place. I’ve seen…you’ll see it…you know, guys like me in a camo hat in New York City. You’re not hidin’. That’s not camouflage there.”
Brad Paisley says that camouflage fits right into the country lifestyle. (:25)
“There’s two occasions when a redneck will wear camouflage. And one of them is to disappear from wildlife, and the other is to stand out among people who don’t normally wear it. It’s a source of pride. You think that way. And it’s that way I think with the country lifestyle, and the mentality is, you know, you’re gonna say, ‘Well, I’m gonna show my true colors today.'”
