Sometimes songwriting is tough, and some days the ideas just flow, and Chris Young tells us that with his new hit song called “You,” this was one where things came together quickly, and the result was a gem. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- In case you were wondering, Chris wrote “You” with hit tunesmith Luke Laird, who’s co-written a bunch of huge hits for Carrie Underwood, including “Mama’s Song,” “Temporary Home,” and “Undo It,” to name a few, as well as “Hillbilly Bone” for Blake Shelton, and “A Little Bit Stronger” for Sara Evans.
- “You” is the hot new single from Chris’ NEON album, home to his recent number-one smash, “Tomorrow.”

“This song came together fast. We didn’t have any idea what we were gonna write. We just started writin’. We didn’t have a hook. We just were like, ‘Well, let’s just see what we can come up with.’ And we kind of created a little feel and started puttin’ lines down and ended up with this song.”
