“I am a songwriter; I’ll write songs, but it was such a relief this time to be able to feel like these people were giving me great songs, goin’, ‘Check this out. This song’s a hit.’ And I remember when I first moved to town, when I hadn’t had a lot of my own demos done yet, I was listening to demos of people, and goin’, ‘Wow, man, this is pretty cool to, like, hear songs that are being created on a daily basis that are being written for artists to sing.’ I just think that’s really cool and refreshing to know that, on a daily basis, people are sitting around us, right now, writing songs that quite possibly — whether it be in two weeks or two years — will be songs that people will sing along to all over the country. I think that’s such a cool thing. Like, the art of creativity is just so cool to me.”
