Brad Paisley was all of seven years old when supergroup Alabama charted the first of their 32 Billboard number-one hits — “Tennessee River” — back in 1980. And growing up through so many years of great Alabama music on the radio, Brad says it’s an incredibly cool feeling to now be enjoying a hit with the guys on the song “Old Alabama.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- “Old Alabama” is the second big hit from Brad’s new album, This Is Country Music, releasing May 23rd!
- Start Your Engines: After recording two songs for the 2006 film, Cars, Brad Paisley is back in the driver’s seat for the adventure of Cars 2, contributing two new songs to the film and multi-artist soundtrack. One song is called “Nobody’s Fool,” written and performed by Brad, and the other is “Collision of Worlds,” written and performed with award-winning British singer/songwriter Robbie Williams. Heard over the end credits, the song is a duet that Brad calls “a rock vocal event with one of the most talented people I’ve ever met, Robbie Williams.” “Collision of Worlds” brings together the British and American perspectives of Robbie and Brad to help capture the friendship of film characters McQueen and Mater. With “Nobody’s Fool,” Brad says, “It’s inspired by the most heartbreaking scene in the movie. Mater realizes that everybody thinks he’s playing the fool and he becomes sort of enlightened and realizes that he’s not playing the fool — he is one. But Mater realizes he is who he is and that was inspiring to me.” Cars 2 roars into theatres on June 24th, with the soundtrack releasing June 14th.
- Brad is set for a big wave of upcoming television around the May 23rd release of his This Is Country Music album. Look for him on May 24th with appearances on ABC’s Good Morning America, CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman, and FOX News Channel’s Hannity, followed by a May 25th visit to ABC’s The View.

Brad Paisley talks about the experience of singing with Alabama on the smash, “Old Alabama.” (:20)
“It’s really an amazing experience to see them back together singin’ like they are and that sound that the three of their voices have. They’re just responsible for so many of us in music now, you know, that were influenced by them. And getting to hear them on the radio right next to me is the thrill of a lifetime.”
