She may be this year’s most-nominated artist at the ACM Awards — with an amazing seven nominations — but Miranda Lambert tells us that she certainly wasn’t expecting that kind of recognition, especially her first-time appearance in the ACM Entertainer of the Year category. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- “Dateless” with fiancé Blake Shelton co-hosting the ACM show with Reba, Miranda laughs that she’ll just make the best of it while she’s in the audience — though she may be nervous for another reason. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Along with her host of ACM nominations, fans can also look for Miranda as both presenter and performer on the show!
- Miranda will also be among the performers and honorees at Monday night’s taping of the ACM special event, Girls’ Night Out: Superstar Women of Country — The Concert of the Year. The star-studded concert will benefit ACM Lifting Lives — the charitable arm of the ACM — and will be taped to air April 22nd on CBS. At the show, Miranda will specifically be honored as the only female artist in ACM history ever to win Album of the Year twice — a feat she did with the crazy-good Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and her latest million-seller, Revolution.
- When Miranda says that she was “still on cloud nine from last year,” she had good reason: at last year’s ACM Awards, Miranda walked away with Video of the Year (“White Liar”), Album of the Year (Revolution), and Top Female Vocalist!
- Just for the record, Miranda’s seven nominations this year include Entertainer of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Song and Video of the Year (“The House That Built Me”), Video for “Only Prettier,” and Vocal Event of the Year for “Coal Miner’s Daughter” (with Loretta Lynn and Sheryl Crow).
Miranda Lambert was blown away to receive so many ACM nominations, particularly Entertainer of the Year. (:28)
“I had such a great year last year at the ACMs, you know, I didn’t even know that…I wasn’t even expecting any, and I would have been okay ’cause I’m still on cloud nine from last year, but seven is unbelievable, especially Entertainer of the Year. I…it’s hard for me to grasp that I’m in that category because I haven’t done some of the numbers and some of the amazing things that some other artists have, but I’m just thankful that I’ve got my foot in the door as a nominee ’cause it puts a drive in me to know that one day I may actually win Entertainer of the Year. So, bein’ nominated gets me warmed up!”
At the time of the ACM nominations, Miranda Lambert admitted that she’d be sitting solo, and she was also a little worried about what hubby-to-be Blake Shelton might say as the show co-host. (:21)
“I’m not gonna have a date! It’s kind of sad. (laughs) I’ll probably just sit next to a random person, but I don’t know, you know? I don’t know if he’s nervous about hosting or what…I haven’t really talked to him about it, but I’m tryin’ not to ask him, get him all freaked out. But I just…I’m a little worried — a little tiny bit worried — just because he’s kind of a loose cannon, and you never know what’s gonna come out of his mouth, but I know it’ll be funny.” (laughs)
