With his newest blockbuster single, “Somewhere with You,” Kenny Chesney believes that part of the song’s appeal is in its different kind of melody, but also that the idea behind the lyrics — moving on from an old love, but still having that person in your thoughts — rings true for a lot of people. Kenny Chesney talks about his latest smash, “Somewhere with You.” (:39)
“Melodically, I think this is the most unpredictable melody that I’ve sang in a long time. And I think just the overall feel and the essence and what the song — the overall message of the song — what it says, so many people can relate to that. They have that person in their life that, you know, yeah, I’m with this person now, but I still think about this over here. And this may be a great, committed relationship, or it may just be a date, but you know, still that person is in their head, in their heart, and they’re thinkin’ about it.”
