2010 HIGHLIGHTS: February

It’s been another great year in country music…and as we get ready for 2011, we’re looking back at some of the highlights of 2010.

IN FEBRUARY…
Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis won the GRAMMY for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for their duet version of “I Told You So.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
• Brad Paisley‘s digital single “Online” is certified Gold.
• Carrie Underwood sings the national anthem at Super Bowl 44. The New Orleans Saints win the game 31 to 17 over the Indianapolis Colts 
• Josh Thompson released his debut album Way Out Here, featuring the hit songs “Beer on the Table,” “Way Out Here” and his current single, “Won’t Be Lonely Long.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“I don’t think any of it’s anything that I have done, that the song has done so well. I think it really is a testament to the song, to ‘I Told You So,’ and to Randy Travis ’cause he did such an amazing job writing this amazing song. I think no matter who sang it again, it would probably end up getting really high on the charts just because it’s a great song. So I’m very glad that he let me borrow his song for a little while.”

I’d written or co-written every song on the album — all 10 of ‘em — and you’re gonna hear a lot of my influences flowin’ through the center of it, but you know, at the same time, you’re gonna hear a new sound that’s definitely my own.”
