The New York Daily News writes of last week’s passing of 90-year-old Morrie Yohai, a man who had a variety of roles in life, but may well best be remembered as the creator of the classic snack, the Cheez Doodle…which happens to be a sentimental favorite for Chris Young. Chris tells us he’s a Doodler from way back, and he offers a tip of the hat to a tasty creation that has stood the test of time. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“I actually, you know what, I know this sounds really funny, but bein’ somebody that’s on the road all the time and just eats crap for food about 90 percent of the time…and especially, like, as a kid, if I could get a hold of them, one of my favorite things in the world was Cheez Doodles. I mean, come on, they’re awesome. There’s cheese and a doodle, in the same thing. I mean, it’s just a…I mean, I’m gonna have to mark this day on my calendar. It’s kind of sad that that guy’s…you know, I’m kind of poking fun a little bit, but it is kind of sad. I mean, you know, it’s one of those things that, at least for me bein’ a kid, I totally remember, all the time.”
