Chris Young is living a dream — he’s on tour with Alan Jackson! Alan is a musical hero of Chris’, and Chris jokes that even if he could go back in time to tell a younger version of himself that one day he’d open for Alan on tour, “I probably wouldn’t believe myself.” Chris has had a great time on Alan’s Freight Train tour so far, but one of the wildest moments came when Alan introduced himself to the young singer, to which Chris responded, “Yes, you are.” After all, he “couldn’t think of what else to say to him.” More than just a few of Alan’s fans are showing up early to hear Chris’ number-one hit, “Gettin’ You Home,” and his current single, “The Man I Want to Be.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

“The tour with Alan is amazing. I mean, just how nice he is. I mean, the first weekend we were out he pulled me up on the bus and, it was kind of funny, he walked over, he’s like, ‘Hi, I’m Alan.’ I was like, ‘Yes, you are.’ I was like, I couldn’t think of what else to say to him. I was like, well, I mean, he’s not supposed to introduce himself. This is backwards. But, just a really, really nice guy. Actually sent me a bottle of Jack Daniels when we first went out there, with a note. And I told everybody, I’m not drinking that. (laughs) I was like, ‘That’s staying unopened.’ I was like, ‘Don’t y’all drink it when I’m not looking. I’m just gonna put it in my house somewhere.’ It’s pretty cool. I’m really loving this tour.”

“If I could go back in time and, like, see myself as a kid, you know, singing along to Alan Jackson records, and be like, ‘Man, you have no idea. You’re gonna open for this guy one day,’ I probably wouldn’t believe myself. Just to be honest. I mean, this really is one of those things that is such a big deal. As an artist, when you list, you know, who did you open for, who have you been on tour with, and I can actually list someone that is a huge influence on me as an artist, you know, as well as one of my favorites, being able to go, ‘Yeah, I’ve been out on tour with Alan Jackson,’ that’s gonna be a big thing for me.”
