This past Sunday, Brad Paisley got dunked in a pool and then slam-dunked his fourth ACM Top Male Vocalist win. Brad capped-off his fun-filled ACM performance of his new single, “Water,” by falling into a pool. What Brad didn’t realize was that the Male Vocalist award was to be announced next…and he’d have to go up and accept it soaking wet. He had a towel in hand — but this was definitely the soggiest speech he’s given while receiving an award…so far. Backstage, still soaking wet, Brad did admit this might have been his favorite award show performance yet. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Brad Paisley made ACM history on Sunday at the awards with his fourth Top Male Vocalist win–he became the only guy to take home three or more consecutive honors in that category.
Backstage at the ACM Awards, Brad Paisley talks about his performance on the show. (:15)
“I like to do things like this that say, basically, we have a good time. And that’s what we do. Tonight was a lot of fun. Awards shows aren’t always fun. Sometimes they’re scary, and sometimes they’re just nerve-wracking, and this one was a blast!”
Still in his soaking-wet clothes, Brad was asked what he thought about his fourth win in the Male Vocalist category. (:05)
“I don’t know. All I can think about is changing! (laughs) Nah, it’s great! I’m floored!”
