Chris Young had a pretty great 2009. He released his latest album, The Man I Want to Be and had the first number-one song of his career with “Gettin’ You Home.” But now Chris thinks his 2010 might be even better. His new single, “The Man I Want to Be,” is climbing the chart, he’ll be heading out on the road this year, and he’s nominated for an ACM award. Chris is up for Top New Solo Vocalist, and you can help him win! GAC and the ACM have teamed up to give you the chance to vote online and pick the winner in the Top New Solo Vocalist, Top New Vocal Duo, and Top New Vocal Group catagories. Voting starts Friday, February 26th and runs to Friday, March 12th. Around mid-March, a winner will be announced from each catagory and then go on to compete for Top New Artist. That winner will be announced during the 45th Annual ACM Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 18th. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

Chris Young talks about his ACM Award nomination as Top New Solo Vocalist. (:29)
“I’m pretty excited. I had no idea there’s a lot of people that were eligible for nomination this year. I mean, they showed me the list, and it’s, like, a couple pages long full of people. So, to be nominated and be in that category is a pretty big deal. Especially coming off of my first number-one record, and having great album sales, and gettin’ ready to kick off tourin’ for this year. It’s a good way to start the year, definitely. You know, everybody keeps talking about, I had such a great 2009: this is a good way to start 2010.”
