If you’re like most people — workin’ for the weekend — Brad Paisley‘s got your number, and that’s what he was thinking about with his latest hit, “American Saturday Night,” because when it comes to really cutting loose and gettin’ your groove on, Friday’s good, but Saturday’s the day. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- “American Saturday Night” just feels like a party! And it’s the feel-great title track to Brad’s current album, which, by the way, already has back-to-back chart-toppers with “Then” and “Welcome to the Future.”
- And a big tip of the Stetson to Brad’s dad, all-around good-guy Doug Paisley, who was on-site at Brad’s recent concert in Wichita and was instrumental in performing CPR on a venue employee who collapsed from a heart attack. The Wichita Eagle covered the story, and Daddy Doug — a longtime volunteer firefighter and EMT — was quick to call it a team effort, including another man who helped perform CPR before the paramedics arrived. The paramedic team was able to restore a pulse and e-vac the patient, and they credited the on-the-spot CPR with helping sustain the man until their arrival. Way to go, Doug!
Brad Paisley talks about the joy of Saturdays. (:26)
“The one night of the week, really, when everybody is willing to be entertained, and ready to let loose, and sort of forget about whatever’s goin’ on, is Saturday. Friday’s great, too. Sunday, they’re ready to go back to work. Thursday, you know you got to get up still on Friday and go to work. But Saturday night, you’re free and clear. You had a day off all day, and something about that really does appeal to me.”
