Chris Young has one of the hottest singles on the airwaves with his smash, “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song),” and all the fans hungry for more great music from Chris will get their wish this Tuesday, with the September 1st release of The Man I Want to Be. Chris’ second album not only features “Gettin’ You Home,” but also another fan-favorite, “Voices,” as well as a duet with Willie Nelson, and Chris’ amazing rendition of the classic “Rainy Night in Georgia,” along with much more. You know, I don’t get to make this album if people didn’t go out and buy the first one and show up at shows and, you know, call into radio for the new single. So this is, you know, a culmination of all that stuff, and it’s almost like this album is, you know, gratifying to me, but it’s a big thank you to them that it’s even in the stores.”

  Chris Young laughs that when he bought his first album, the guy at the register didn’t have a clue it was him. (:19)
“When I went and bought my first CD, the guy did not even pick up on it. Like, swiped my credit card with my name on it…nothin’. Takin’ pictures with me and the CD, and he’s lookin’ at us like we’re crazy in the Walmart we stopped at. So, just another one of those things, though, to make sure you’re humble.” (laughs)
