Even when you’re a professional entertainer and a hit recording artist — and Country Weekly‘s Hottest Bachelor — there are always going to be those moments that keep you humble, and Chris Young says he’s certainly no exception. Chris tells us he’s been relatively free of concert mishaps of the “wardrobe malfunction” variety, but there was one occasion when an on-stage leap and a sudden drafty feeling had the “Gettin’ You Home” singer wishing he could get home — or at least off stage — to find out whether the rip in his jeans was as bad as he suspected. Chris laughs as he says, “There’s always stuff like that that brings you down, and you’re like, ‘Wow, I do not feel special today.'” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Get ready! September 1 is the big day when Chris’ new album hits stores! It’s called The Man I Want to Be, and it includes his current smash, “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song).”
Chris Young recalls a “wardrobe malfunction.” (:47)
“Every now and then you’ll get there. You’ll be like, ‘Man, we’re on. We’re really rockin’ this tour,’ and then somethin’ will happen, and you’ll be like, ‘Wow, I’m completely human.’ (laughs) You’ll have two or three shows go really well in a row, and then, for instance, it’s only happened to me one time ever, but I ripped my pants on stage. The whole show, I’m thinkin’, ‘How bad are my pants ripped?’ And about the fourth song in, I lean over to my bass player, and I’m screaming, but tryin’ to smile so nobody knows what I’m doin’. I’m like, ‘Hey! Are my pants ripped?’ And he looked down and just started laughin’, and so I’m thinkin’, ‘Okay, this is bad.’ I spend the whole time up there, get off stage, and I have the world’s smallest hole in the thigh of my jeans. There’s always stuff like that that brings you down, and you’re like, ‘Wow, I do not feel (laughs) special today.'”
