BROOKS & DUNN: Poop Scoopin’ Boogie?

When you’ve got a list of hits as long as Brooks & Dunn, it’s an amazing accomplishment without a doubt, and the guys will celebrate a whopping 23 number-ones, with even more hits piled on, when their double-CD collection, #1s … and then some, releases on September 8th. But when it comes to singing some of those really early hits in concert, Kix and Ronnie laughingly admit that it’s those songs that seem to be the most likely victims of a lyrical brain freeze. (AUDIO INFO BELOW)

  • Among the 30 songs on the upcoming album are such B&D classics as “Brand New Man,” “Boot Scootin’ Boogie,” “Only in America,” and “Believe,” as well as current hit “Indian Summer” and the way-cool “Honky Tonk Stomp,” featuring Billy Gibbons.

Kix
: “Those are the hardest ones to remember.”
Ronnie: “Yeah. The songs you know. The old songs you go on autopilot is what happens, and just all of a sudden you’re not payin’ attention. I mean, you’re in the moment, but you’re not payin’ attention.”
Kix: “Somebody in the front row catches your eye and your brain.” (laughs)
Ronnie: “You’re readin’ someone holdin’ up a poster, and you’re goin’, ‘I’m a brand new what? I’m a brand new truck stop 49.'”
