Brad Paisley fans, rejoice! We’re on the march to the June 30th release of his new album, American Saturday Night, and we’re in the second week of iTunes’ song-a-week countdown! Last week, fans got to pick up the first of three new songs exclusively available at iTunes prior to the album release…the first was “Water,” and this week, it’s the title track, “American Saturday Night.” Brad says he chose it for the title fairly early in the album process because it seemed to capture the spirit of the record and also because it’s the one day when “everybody is willing to be entertained and ready to let loose and sort of forget about whatever’s goin’ on.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- This coming Tuesday, fans can head for iTunes for a chance to get the third pre-release track, “Everybody’s Here.” The purchase of any of the three songs — or Brad’s blockbuster smash, “Then” — all count toward a discount if you buy Brad’s new album through iTunes’ Complete My Album feature!
- Congratulations to Brad, who won three awards — more than any other artist — at Tuesday’s CMT Music Awards! Brad walked away with Male Video of the Year for “Waitin’ on a Woman,” Collaborative Video of the Year for “Start a Band” with Keith Urban, and CMT Performance of the Year, an award shared with Alan Jackson, George Strait, and Dierks Bentley for their performance of Alan’s “Country Boy” on the special, CMT Giants: Alan Jackson.
Brad Paisley explains how he came to name his new album, American Saturday Night. (:26)
“We named this album early on because we had written that song, and it felt like that summed up a lot of what was going on, thematically, in this record. And there’s nothing…one thing I learned last year, the one night of the week, really, when everybody is willing to be entertained and ready to let loose and sort of forget about whatever’s goin’ on is Saturday.”
