Being a hit singer and songwriter means that your music has the potential to make a difference in a lot of people’s lives, and Brad Paisley thinks that’s a really cool thing. As an artist, Brad always wants to find or write great songs that fans will enjoy, and he admits that sometimes it’s easy to forget the impact that music can have…whether it’s a message of comfort and inspiration in a song like “When I Get Where I’m Going” or something that people might choose as “our song” or a wedding song, like Brad’s “We Danced” or his gorgeous new hit, “Then.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- Of course, fun songs have their place in music, too, and, hey, even if it wasn’t life-changing to everyone, Brad’s fans are probably more conscious of woodland safety after “Ticks”!!
- By the way, “Then” has become the fastest rising hit of Brad’s career so far…on the charts only five weeks, and it’s already a Top 10 hit and climbing! The song is available now as a digital single, and it’s the first hit from his new album, American Saturday Night, out June 30th!
- UPDATE: Due to Jay Leno’s illness, Brad’s Tonight Show performance scheduled for April 24th has been cancelled. We’ll keep you posted on any rescheduled date!
- And warm congratulations again to Brad and wife Kimberly on the birth of their second son on April 17th. They’ve decided to name him Jasper Warren Paisley, in honor of Brad’s grandfather, Warren Jarvis, who gave Brad his first guitar. The new family addition joins big brother William Huckleberry — Huck — born in February of 2007.
Brad Paisley talks about the impact of music. (:24)
“Looking ahead at the lives of people that you touch as a singer, it’s certainly always fun to think about what that does and the effect that you can have as an artist on, just, people in the world and all that. And I do think that that’s the thing that we forget sometimes as we make these records and sing is that there are people whose lives are changed by records and music and, well, I’m glad that that happens.”
