With the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series kicking off its first race of the season on February 15th in Daytona, we thought we’d ask Brooks & Dunn about some of their favorite drivers. Kix Brooks throws in a vote for Jimmie Johnson, and he enjoys the more animated side of Tony Stewart. Ronnie Dunn takes a light-hearted approach to the question, referring to Dale Earnhardt, Jr. as he laughs, “I like Junior when he wins. I don’t care for him when he doesn’t. I’m a fair-weather fan.” (AUDIO INFO BELOW)
- And racing its way up the charts is the duo’s latest smash, “Cowgirls Don’t Cry,” with Reba McEntire! The song is available to fans for the first time this Tuesday, February 10th, when the special version with Reba is released as a digital single!
- The original B&D version of “Cowgirls Don’t Cry” is on the duo’s Cowboy Town album, along with the hits “God Must Be Busy,” “Put a Girl in It,” and “Proud of the House We Built.”
- Brooks & Dunn Trivia: The guys actually did a racing-themed video years ago that featured Dale Junior’s dad, racing legend, Dale Earnhardt. It was for the duo’s hit, “Honky Tonk Truth.”

Kix: “I like Jimmie Johnson. I like Tony Stewart just ’cause he makes everybody mad. At least you get some kind of color on TV. Somebody’s not afraid to go call somebody a whatever, you know, and get a little stirred up out there.”
Ronnie: “I like Junior when he wins. I don’t care for him when he doesn’t. I’m a fair-weather fan. (laughs)”
